Selecting the perfect area rug can bring your whole project together.  However,  the correct rug pad will make the difference in comfort as well as safety and protection for your rug.

Adding a pad not only extends the life of your rug, it also prevents the rug fibers from being compressed or flattened.

Safety is one of the main issues.  Rug pads will keep the rug stationery and flat, preventing any potential slips or falls from the movement of the rug.

Protecting the surface of your floor from abrasive rug backing is alleviated, by using the correct rug pads that are either attached to the backing of the custom rug or loose laid underneath the rug.  A pad or attached cushion can also prevent dye-transfer from the rug to the floor finish.
